Basic information
Personality description
I really dislike writing information on myself, as I don’t usually know what to say. I don’t consider myself all that interesting of a person, so it can be hard to write about myself in an interesting way. It’s strange; I’ve changed my ‘about me’ page so many times, and I’ve never came up with something that I actually liked. It’s actually not too easy to give an accurate description of one’s self in a few paragraphs. But I’ll try anyway, and hopefully you will have learned a few things about yours truly, and won’t end up falling asleep.
I suppose generally I am a very quiet, calm, and reserved person. I can sometimes be very shy, though I am not nearly as shy as I used to be. There are days when I’m the type of person who prefers staying at home and being by myself, and then sometimes I can be in an outgoing mood and want to be around others. So I’m not really “anti-social”, I just usually keep to myself and feel comfortable in my own company. I tend to be the quiet one in a group (except if you catch me on a day when I am in the mood to talk nonstop), and I generally just like to sit and listen, and observe; while occasionally throwing in my own two cents and my signature deadpan humor. Maybe you could call it companionable silence.
I like to think of myself as a very caring and sensitive person, as I try to be there for the people I care about as much as possible. I tend to be very nice and generous, although I don’t always get the same courtesy in return, which is sad. I guess you could say, sometimes I am nice to a fault. I’m kind to everyone I meet, and I try to keep things positive and cheerful when I can. I don’t have much tolerance for people who are constantly negative and like to insult other people for no reason (other than to make their pathetic selves feel better). People like that have no lives and don’t deserve attention, as far as I’m concerned.
Generally I’m a nice person, overall. Treat me well, and I’ll treat you well; plain and simple, really.
Physical appearance
Physical-wise, I have medium length dark brown hair (usually I have golden highlights, as well), dark brown eyes, and I wear glasses. I could wear contacts, but I actually think I look better with glasses. My skin is very pale, I’m “white as paper” as I usually say, and I don’t tan very well, haha. I’m about 5′5″ in height, and I weigh an undisclosed amount which you will never know. I’m not at all “skinny”, but I’m nevertheless happy with the way I look. I enjoy being feminine, I love wearing girly clothes and cute colors, makeup, perfume, and jewelry. I’m really addicted to buying lip glosses and lip sticks, and I own an unnecessarily large amount of purses.
My sense of style is all over the place. I don’t have a certain “label” or anything. I wear different things from stores like Old Navy, Alloy, Delia*s, Hot Topic, Beall’s, Target…it really depends. If it’s cute, I’ll wear it. I’m not one of those people who are obsessed with labels. I think it’s silly paying like $70 for a shirt just because of the brand. Either way, I’m happy with how I look.
That’s all that matters. As far as I’m concerned, who cares about what other people think?
Interests
Some of the things I like to do when I go out are shopping with my friends, seeing movies, trying new restaurants, and overall just hanging out. I have a couple of creative things that I like to spend my time doing, such as web designing, sewing, and sometimes I like cooking and baking.
Another thing I like to do often is reading.. I often say that it’s a shame more people don’t read these days. My favorite type of reading material would be romantic comedy novels (such as what Marian Keyes writes), fantasy stories (such as the all-popular Harry Potter), murder mysteries, and thriller/horror stories. I am also a big fan of Stephen King, and I really enjoy V.C. Andrews’ creepy books.
Some of my favorite books are:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
Chocolat by Joann Harris
Dreamcatcher by Stephen King
Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
Needful Things by Stephen King
Sushi for Beginners by Marian Keyes
The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
The Neverending Story by Michael Ende
The Wizard of Oz series by Frank Baum
The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
White Oleander by Janet Fitch
One of my most long-lasting and major obsessions is with the movie Labyrinth. I’ve seen it, quite literally, about 30 or so times since the age of nine. It’s one of the first things that ever sparked my now-huge interest of the 1980s and David Bowie.
I love the color pink, and I love cute things like Hello Kitty. I’m probably going to be in my 30s and still hanging on to my Hello Kitty stuff, haha…
